If you live at a Camden Property, you may have heard of a Building of the Week or a Floor of the Week. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, it's simple, the Maintenance team and Office team get together and focus on one particular Building per week, and clean, paint, pick up/tidy up, and do just about anything to make it shine a little bit more. Plus, we get to brag about it on our Community email, and social media.

This past week, we started our Building of the Week Campaign at Camden Plantation. I was so excited to start this and get the word out there to all of our residents. We sent emails, and posted a huge eye catching banner, for everyone to see. We were all so eager to get started, and this week the Community Manager and I went out there and got ready to work!

I was reminded about a blog post I read on our Simply Camden Blog that really got me laughing. She shares a glimpse about A day in the life of a Camden Employee. She shares some of the reasons why working for Camden is awesome! She mentions that we focus on our residents and that “Some of the best memories are made by working hard alongside your teammates for a greater cause.” (Side note, you should read it, it's super informative).

So this question about my duties, reminded me that I enjoy what I do, and take pride in my community and want that to show. I have seen how hard our Maintenance team works and the amount of work they do and know that they would appreciate a little extra help. Now, I don't know if you've ever been to South Florida, but it gets hot… I mean hot!!! I felt that my help was not only for myself, but our community, our residents, and our team.

I can't even begin to tell you how many of our wonderful residents would stop by and comment about the progress. We've received great feedback and we're constantly asked "when is it our turn?" It made us so excited to hear resident’s feedback and eager for their turn! I am just as excited to continue to work on this project with our team and make this gorgeous property sparkle just a little bit more!
