After celebrating the holidays with family and friends, the new year is the perfect time to reflect on what you’ve accomplished and to set new intentional goals for the months ahead. Whether it is improving your health, learning a new skill, creating a more organized living space, or maintaining a focus on personal finances, setting goals is a great way to plan your year ahead with all the passion the new year brings! Below are a few ideas for your New Year's goals and how to incorporate them while living in your Camden apartment home.
Improving Your Health
An incredible New Year’s goal to set is to improve your health – this is a common goal for many people and for good reason! Focusing on your health and well-being will transform your life and confidence. This was my goal last year, and after succeeding in it, it has affected my life in only positive ways.
Many Camden apartments have a fitness center included as an amenity, with cardio and strength training equipment within their facilities. If you are completely new to working out in a public gym, no worries – read up on this Camden blog on essential gym etiquette tips to get you confident in your gym routine!
Likewise, many also include a pool as an amenity – swimming laps and swimming, in general, is a wonderful alternative to a gym to receive your needed cardio. My favorite form of cardio is simply walking – walking around your neighborhood for a simple thirty minutes can be a great and effective way to stay healthy.

Creating a More Organized Living Space
Another wonderful goal is to create a more organized living space - this can help contribute to mental clarity and well-being in your life. Decluttering can be a great place to start for this goal but can sometimes seem overwhelming if you have multiple areas that need it.
A great way to start this goal is to declutter one area per week or per month. Whether it is your closet, kitchen, room or bathroom, start by organizing all of your items between what you need and what you no longer need.
By getting rid of or donating items that you do not use or that you no longer need, your space will feel a lot more open and easier to clean out and organize. Check out this Camden blog on how to live a minimalist lifestyle to help start this new journey!
Personal Financial Goals
Another wonderful goal for your future is to set personal financial goals for yourself. I am currently a Financial Analyst and have a huge passion for personal finances.
Staying strict and close to your own personal budget will help set your momentum for your future and success. A general rule to follow when budgeting is the 50 –30 –20 rule. This rule states that within your budget, 50% is spent on needs, 30% on wants, and 20% on savings.
A main focus in apartment living is following a budget and budgeting your living expenses overall to ensure you do not overleverage your liabilities. Read this blog I wrote, where I help you break down your budget when living in an apartment!

Overall, setting New Year's goals is all about building habits that move you toward your goals and the life you want to create. Whether your goals are focused on health, organization, finances, or more, maintaining intention and purpose in your goals will help you achieve them!
