On the day I moved into Camden Post Oak this summer, I didn’t know what to expect. From their website, I knew that Camden Post Oak was a gorgeous 33 story high rise in Houston’s Galleria area. The community photos and long list of amenities are what drew me to the community, but I had no idea I was moving into such a vibrant neighborhood. The people and the location of Camden Post Oak are unbeatable, and every weekend is a new adventure. Here is what a weekend at Camden Post Oak looks like for me.
Friday:
After a long day in a desk chair, all I want to do is exchange the heels for running shoes. I go to the yoga room in our fitness center for a quick stretch and warm-up, and then I head to Memorial Park. This park is perfect for me because I never like to run the same route twice and Memorial has over 30 miles of trails scattered throughout. After my run, I go back to my apartment, shower, and fight the urge to walk down the road to Crave Cupcakes. I walk, instead, to Whole Foods and hit up their juice bar.
Later that night, I meet some friends for a movie and drinks at the beautiful and historic River Oaks Theater, a 4-mile drive from my apartment.

Saturday:
On Saturday morning my friend, Lauren, comes to townand we head outside for a walk. Camden Post Oak backs up to a beautiful wooded neighborhood, and in the mornings and evenings, it is common to see some wildlife! After our walk, we drive 5 miles down the road to the Common Bond Bakery in Montrose for quiche and a tea.
You can’t go to Montrose and not pop into a few shops while you’re there. There are great antique shops in the area, but my favorite place to go is the Leopard Lounge, a vintage shop walking distance from the Bakery.
Later, we head back to Camden Post Oak for a snack by the pool. Shortly before I moved in, Camden Post Oak renovated their pool area, and now it is the preferred hang-out spot among residents. We have two pools in front of our building, and the bigger of the two has a lane down the middle for those of us who like to lap swim. I’ve found Camden Post Oak's pool is the perfect place to meet my neighbors and wind down on my time off.
After some pool time, we jump in the car and drive 2 minutes to River Oaks Hopdoddy’s, the best burger joint in Texas. Pro tip for Hopdoddy’s: order the Parmesan Truffle Fries. On the way home, we grab Cave Cupcakes. Sorry, no… CRAVE Cupcakes. We let our food settle, we make a feeble attempt at a workout in Camden Post Oak's state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center, and then we go out for drinks just 5 miles from Camden Post Oak to Stone’s Throw Cocktail Lounge.
Sunday:
Camden Post Oak, like other Camden communities, always hosts social events for the residents. This morning they are making brunch in the catering kitchen! We have omelets downstairs when I get a notification on my phone that Hugh, the concierge, has received my Blue Apron box! I love cooking in my new kitchen, but I’m a beginner, so my life-savers are Blue Apron and the “keep warm” feature on my stove top and double oven.
We are in need of some TLC this Sunday, so we walk over to Paloma Nail Salon, the most beautiful salon we’ve ever seen, for some non-toxic pedicures, and then we walk further down the street to the mall “just to look.”

That evening we cook dinner and have it on my balcony. Lauren has to leave, so we call the Camden Post Oak valet to pull her car around, and we say our goodbyes. After she goes, I head up to the 33rd floor to catch the sunset. The perfect end to the perfect weekend! Stop by Camden Post Oak to see firsthand how beautiful it is!
