Deciding how to decorate your personal space can be frustrating and a bit confusing at times. Have you ever thought about starting with your zodiac sign? Whether you are a fire, air, water, or earth sign there is a connection between your sign and being emotionally balanced in your space. Aries (March 21-April 19)

Aries is a fire sign which means that they tend to naturally have a more aggressive personality. They are often known as go-getters, fighters, and a bit restless which naturally makes Aries drawn toward shades of red. Warmer color tones such a red, ruby, hot pink, etc. work best with this sign.

Advice for Aries: Try a personalized wall filled with trophies, awards, and special mementos will make the space feel comfortable and personalized for an Aries. Try to avoid muted colors or pastel colors as this does not sit well with the strong personality of an Aries. Taurus (April 20- May 20)

Taurus is the bull of astrology. They are known for their stubborn yet charismatic personalities. They are also an earth sign which makes them drawn more towards earthy tones and comfort. The Taurus needs to live in a space where they feel comfortable and relaxed. They tend to gravitate towards over-sized comfy pieces and deep-set leather sofas. They tend to enjoy the earthy colors like browns, taupe, and greens.

Advice for Taurus: It is all about being comfortable in the space. Pick pieces that are classic and comfortable. Play with your space by incorporating different neutral pieces like rugs, curtains, pillows, etc.

Gemini (May 21- June 20)

Gemini: the twins of the zodiac world. These Geminis are known for their ability to adapt and diversify themselves within any situation. This is also true in their style and décor. Gemini’s typically love patterns and prints. They crave variety and will decorate with eclectic or unusual colors, patterns, and prints. Geminis have a difficult time settling on one style for too long. I would recommend finding specific bold pieces (art, pillows, rugs, etc) that can be easily changed in case you get restless and have a need for change.

Advice for Gemini: You love variety but have a hard time committing to one style for a long period. Find pieces that are interchangeable in case you develop a need for a change. They can all be skillfully used together in one room for a vibrant and fun entertaining space! Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Cancers are a water sign and known to be the moodiest of the zodiac signs. A cancers personality is dependent on their mood. They are a softer sign and love to surround themselves in muted colors such as soft grays, cream colors, and silvery hues. They enjoy soothing and comforting palates and enjoy being around sentimental objects. These types of atmosphere will soothe a Cancer and create the perfect place for relaxation.

Advice for Cancers: You are driven by your mood. Pick color palates that are comforting and add sentimental pieces into your space. To create your perfect space Cancer, decorate in soft muted color tones and hang family photos and souvenirs that bring back fond memories of travels and moments. The soft ambiance of a candle with a comforting scent will complete any space for a Cancer.

Leo (July 23- August 22)

Our bold, expressive, and passionate Leo’s are the Lions of the zodiac sign. Their home, just like the jungle, is their castle and they rule their castles with bold colors and lots of natural light. This is a larger than life sign and their style and color choices depict this strong Leo personality. They enjoy reds, oranges, yellows, golds, and browns. They are a very prideful sign, so anything that shows pieces of history or heritage will often times be a form of comfort for a Leo in their home.

Advice for Leo: Due to the personality of a Leo, large paintings or art pieces with bold statements go well in the home of a Leo. Add in pops of color with your accessories through the space. Utilizing pillows and rugs are a great way to add bold color statements within your room. Remember, the Leo loves natural light. Incorporate window treatments that allow for a lot of natural light to feel the space.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

The perfectionist. You will find the home of a Virgo very clean and organized and calming. Virgo’s tend to be meticulous in their décor and patterns. Although their color choices can widely vary in their decoration styles, Virgos tend to go to one extreme or another. You will see them on the muted side with soft grays, greens, or white. They will add bursts of colors with floral arrangements or decorative accessories throughout the home. Or they can go more vibrant with dark indigo walls and bold patterns and statement pieces. Virgos love patterns.

Advice for Virgos: For a Virgo the possibilities are endless! Find a color palate you love with some great patterned pillows and vibrant accessories and you are sure to love your space. Remember, Virgos love patterns so embrace it! The great thing about patterns is that they do not have to match! Since Virgos like the space to be calming, pick around 3 patterns that have one common element within them (color, scale, or style) and have fun with it.

Libra (September 23- October 22)

In the world of Libras, it is all about balance and harmony. Libras want to feel comfortable in their space and they want others to feel the same way when in the home as well. Libras love elegance and style. Lovers of art and design the Libra sign is drawn towards shades of darker hues (cobalt, deep reds and greens, etc).

Advice for Libra-s: Balancing the space is a must for Libra-s so choose coordinating pieces and symmetrical décor. However, be mindful not to overdo it. Libras can be cluttered prone. To achieve the balanced look make sure that your color choices are complementary to one another and are within the same color palate. Matching fabrics and colors will balance the space nicely for a Libra and create a harmonious home for friends and family to gather in.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Scorpios can be very intense. Their space can be reflective of their serious and soulful nature. Scorpios can go two separate ways in their design style. You have some Scorpios that feel most comfortable in a solid natural color such as black or white with lots of texture pieces around them. Or you will find those who prefer more intense colors like crimson, black, orange, maroon, etc. They enjoy these dynamically rich colors and prefer to a few simple pieces with subtle complexity to make a statement.

Advice for Scorpios: Keep it simple! Solid colors with some textured pieces will be perfect for a Scorpio. Sagittarius (November 22- December 21)

The spirit of the outdoors resides in a Sagittarius. They are the go-getters of the zodiac signs and enjoy getting out and enjoying nature. They also love to travel! Sags are naturally drawn towards colors found in nature. They will be most comfortable in shades of blues, yellows, and orange.

Capricorn (December 22nd- January 19)

The Capricorn is much like the bull in a Taurus. The Capricorn seeks out comfort and stability in their personal space. Organic shades of copper or browns will set a nice tone with a Capricorn. You may also veer towards classic navy burgundy, gold, or dark blue. They are the sturdiest of the signs and enjoy traditional furniture pieces that are also sturdy. Capricorns are not big on trendy colors or fashion.
