Austin is known for many attractions: Barton Springs, Zilker Park, Town Lake to name a few. But what Austin may be best known for is their wide variety of amazing restaurants - more specifically their TexMex! My favorite treat when dining out is queso and a spicy margarita! Austin has lots of fantastic restaurants to choose from and I have compiled a list of the best in relation to your Camden apartment.
South/Central Austin
Torchy’s TacosThis Austin original began in 2006 with its original location is on South 1st. Since then it has expanded to over 30 different store locations and 15 cities! While they do not serve margaritas, their food is an Austin staple and had to make my list! It wouldn’t be a visit to Torchy’s without their delicious green chile queso topped off with guacamole, queso fresco, cilantro & their famous diablo hot sauce. Thankfully no matter where you’re located in Austin, a Torchy’s isn’t too far.

El Alma Restaurante & BarLocated off Barton Springs, El Alma not only brings delicious food to the table but also an incredible rooftop patio with a view of downtown Austin. They have a wide array of margarita’s including avocado and watermelon. Their spicy cocktail, the Don Quixote Martini, is my personal favorite! El Alma’s most unique queso is their Blanco y Rojo which is a white queso with poblano peppers, mushroom, and onions.

Guero’s Taco BarDon’t just come from the food, Guero’s Taco Bar offers great atmosphere as it is located in the heart of the famous South Congress strip. They offer a long list of margarita’s made with a handful of different tequilas!Their chile con queso’s secret is in their sauce, the “Guero’s own Rachero” sauce that is. Come for dinner & drinks and stay for the live music at their outdoor stage next door. They have live music almost every night!

North Austin
Azul TequillaTheir Northwest Hills location is known for their freshly-made margaritas that taste like candy and their Queso Compesto that some have referred to as the "nectar of the God’s". This is my personal all-time favorite place in Austin and I recommend it to everyone looking for a place to eat in Austin!

Texican CaféWith locations in both North and South Austin, TexicanCafe has daily specials that make this place a must try! They are known for their famously fresh margarita’s including a margarita flight! Who needs to pick just one margarita? While you are there pick from one of their 4 different types of queso including the Queso Flameado, a spicy chorizo queso.

Remember, getting to these events from your Camden apartment home is incredibly easy. Grab an Uber now that they are back in Austin or drive yourself! If you don't feel like dining out and would rather make the queso and margaritas at home, check out this blog on how to host a party in your apartment home!
