Things to do in San Diego

I recently moved to San Diego from Orange County for a position that opened with Camden. I’ve been here for about three months and have taken every opportunity I can to play tourist in my new city. Over the past few months my friends have taken the Amtrak train from Orange County which relieves a lot of the stress of driving through California traffic plus the views from the train are amazing.  I can honestly say that I am blown away by this city and all of the options for entertainment. Here are some of my favorite things to do in San Diego: Downtown has that city vibe with high rise buildings and gorgeous views of the Bay. I’ve been to cities around the world and this is by far my favorite! Go to a Padres game at Petco Park or visit Balboa Park. Check out the Gas lamp district which is filled with fun night clubs or visit the Mercado Farmers market in Little Italy on Saturdays near Camden Tuscany. The best part about it is that you can easily escape the hustle and bustle and explore the surrounding beach cities.

Pacific Beach: There are endless options for fun in Pacific Beach. Go surfing, rent a sail boat, jet skis, or a paddle board in Mission Bay or visit Sea World during summer and watch amazing fireworks at night.

La Jolla: Watch the Seals and Sea Lions at “The Cove” or “The Children’s Pool” or take a hike at Torrey Pines.

Old Town is the oldest settled city in San Diego. There is a lot of history not to mention great Mexican places to eat at. I like the food and the ambiance at the Coyote Cafe and at night the town is lit up by twinkle lights.

Ocean Beach: Take a stroll to the Sunset Cliffs. Watch the sunset while enjoying your favorite bottle of wine to make the perfect date!

Whether you are new to the area or just visiting for vacation this list is a great place to start your exploration of San Diego!
