Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park is located on milepost #223 off Highway 60 (roughly 45 minutes from the airport). The park features multiple hiking trails, guided nature tours, picnic tables and can serve as an event venue.

Colonel William Boyce Thompson, a Wall Street millionaire, was the previous owner of the land. He built a large house on a hill overlooking the lush greenery and the peaks of the Superstition Mountains.
