I love being able to take my dog to new and fun places, but not all restaurant patios are pet friendly. Here are a few of my favorite spots in San Diego that welcome dogs with open arms.

  1. Lazy Restaurant and Bar – Not just a clever name, the dog themed restaurant lives up to its name by offering its own menu selections for you doggie. Choose from grilled hamburger patty of grilled chicken breast (both come with brown rice) and of course come with a complimentary bowl of water.

  1. Clem’s Tap House – Again, another place I would frequent regardless of their pet policy. They have a nice big fenced-in patio and is a nice quiet setting for the shyer dogs (like mine!). They have an outstanding selection of craft beers and is more of a bar than a restaurant, but they offer nibbles as well. Clem’s offers an amazing selection of beer flights to broaden your craft beer horizon. They also have their bottle shop located in the same parking lot.

Just a quick public service announcement/rant: Please people, do not abuse the pet friendly policy! Per the health department dogs cannot sit in your lap or eat off you plate (regardless of their size), so just don’t do it! I would hate to see any restaurant get a negative health rating due to someone else’s actions….plus it’s gross! Ok rant over, now go check out these places and take your favorite four legged friend with you!
