One of the best perks of living at Camden Farmers Market is the Dallas Farmers Market just across the street (and all of the resident perks you get there!) Located in the heart of Dallas, the Farmers market is 26,000 square feet of specialty dining and shops that has been established and growing since 1941.
The market has a little bit of something for everyone, here’s how you can spend a day there!
To relax and recharge:Have a long week at work? Kick off your Saturday with a cup of caffeine at Palmeri Café . Pick your poison and get your 1st cup FREE if you are a Camden resident when you show your perks card.
Once you are energized and ready to go, head outside at 10am for some Saturday morning yoga to clear your head and unwind. You can register ahead of time to make sure you get a space, and classes are offered Tuesday nights at 7pm as well!
For the foodie:To take home: Shop for meat and fresh produce at the market 7 days a week, and Friday-Sunday make sure you drop by The Shed to shop locally produced food from regional vendors.
Dining in: From fresh seafood to alligator nuggets, The Farmers Market’s wide and unique dining options are sure to satisfy whatever you’re craving. Some great places to check out are Rex’s Seafood, La Ventana, and Cajun Tailgators.
Drinks: Looking to kick back and grab a drink? Noble Rey Brewing has plenty of options on tap and Camden residents get a dollar off pints! You can drink for a good cause too and try out their “Ice Bucket Challenge” brew and they will donate $1 from each beer to Ales for ALS. If you're looking for something a little stronger, La Ventana has tasty margaritas for only $2 during happy hour 2-6pm Monday through Friday. Can’t beat that!
Dessert: Before you head home make sure to pop by one of my personal favorite stands and grab a dessert treat at Chelles Macaroons! Camden residents get $3 off an order of $15 or more, so feel free to splurge and get yourself a few extra to take home too. They have a lot of great flavor options, and almost all are gluten free!
For the kidsSign your little ones up for Wee Little Wednesdays! The farmers market hosts weekly events including storytime and complimentary crafts.
For the home decoratorLooking to spruce up your home with some plants? Learn how to tend to them and help them flourish with complementary gardening education classes! The next one is coming up on August 26th from 11am-12:30pm.
Lone Chimney Mercantile has unique home décor, and it is all made by local artists. The owner shoots the pictures herself! Check out their Texas themed decorations including popular trends like string art and needlepoint.
