I love living in Scottsdale, Arizona where I can enjoy fun activities, delicious food, and local museums that are all close to my Camden apartment. Check out my list of fun touristy things to do in Scottsdale!
McDowell Sonoran Preserve
Are you a nature lover who is looking for a good desert hike? Look no further than the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. With great hiking trails and beautiful views, it is a great place to start your morning. My fiancé Dustin and I love taking our little pup Ziggy on early morning hikes. Make sure to bring plenty of water and wear lots of sunscreen, since things heat up quickly here in the Valley.
The mountain preserve has tons of trails to explore and is only a few miles away from Camden Foothills. You can even see beautiful mountain views from your living room or sitting poolside at one of the resort-style cabanas.
Old Town Scottsdale
Whether you want to check out art galleries and local boutiques, or enjoy dinner at a fancy new restaurant, Old Town Scottsdale has it all! The area is known for its wide variety of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs for a fun night out on the town. If you are looking for a more laid-back environment, head to one of my all-time favorite restaurants: Rehab Burger. They have some of the best burgers in the Valley. Give the peanut butter and jelly burger a try. It is a delicious twist on a classic. After your night out, you can head home to Camden Old Town Scottsdale, located right in the entertainment district. There are plenty of community spaces at Camden Old Town Scottsdale where you could enjoy a fun night in as well!
Coffee Flights at JoJo’s Coffeehouse
Brunch just got a little better! If you are as indecisive as I am, then you understand that choices matter. At JoJo’s Coffeehouse, they offer coffee and espresso flights so you can try all their best drinks. They even come in the cutest little glasses. Totally Instagrammable!
Butterfly Wonderland
For a family-friendly activity, Butterfly Wonderland is the way to go. As one of the largest butterfly conservatories in North America, it provides an experience like no other. Thousands of butterflies call this place their home making it easy for people to learn all about them. You may even get lucky enough to meet one up close and personal!

Musical Instrument Museum
Music lovers unite! This museum has interactive exhibits that let you see, hear, and play music from all around the world. One of my favorites is the piano John Lennon from the Beatles composed “Imagine” on. There are plenty of other famous artist displays in their artist gallery, so I am sure you can find a favorite too!
Come back soon to see my favorite ideas of what to do to be touristy at home in Flagstaff, Arizona!
