Looking for a fun unique activity to do this Spring? Look no further than the Desert Botanical Garden located in Phoenix, Arizona. It is a little over three miles away from Camden Tempe and Camden Sotelo making it accessible and an easy choice when deciding on your weekend plans. With lots of different events and exhibits, there is something for everyone at the garden.
Visiting the Garden
If this is your first time visiting the garden, you can pay for general admission and plan your own adventure. A trail guide is provided at entry, so you can explore the garden at your own pace.
There are four trails to choose from to dive into the terrain headfirst and check out desert plants from around the world. There are 50,000 plants and over 4,000 different species to learn about, which calls for a jam-packed day. When preparing for your visit, some tips for surviving the desert heat are to bring water, sunscreen, and comfy shoes to combat that Arizona sun!
Yoga at the Garden
Connect with nature in this Zen experience. The garden hosts yoga sessions at sunset, which lets you see the garden from a whole other perspective and appreciate its beauty.
Feeling inspired after your garden yoga session? Continue your yoga journey in the Zen Garden at Camden North End, where residents can practice yoga daily!
Dog Days at the Garden
There are exclusive weekends where the garden allows dogs at entry with general admission. Adventure together with your furry friend and walk along the trails making one paw-some doggie day!
When wandering the garden with your dog, please be sure to keep them hydrated and clean up after them so everyone can enjoy the garden’s natural beauty. Check for heat advisories and follow these tips and tricks to keep your pet safe! My pup Ziggy loved spending the day with his parents at the garden!

Shows at the Garden
Music lovers unite! The garden hosts concerts and dance shows for a unique backdrop during performances. One of my personal favorites is the Four Seasons, performed by Ballet Arizona, as I practice ballet myself. The costumes and landscape make for a special experience and Ballet Arizona has such talented dancers. If you are trying to catch more shows and events around the valley, check out the Footprint Center which is one of our most popular venue spaces walking distance from Camden Copper Square.
