Let me start by saying that my knowledge of all things automotive is uber limited. I like them fast and shiny (cars people!). Thirteen miles to the gallon-sweet, it's an SRT-8! But, times they are a changing and hybrid cars are here to stay. Without further ado, here is my totally unscientific list of the best hybrids on the market. Hybrid: hy-brid (noun) - a thing made by combining two different elements; a mixture Ford Fusion Hybrid/Energi The Ford Fusion not only offers the hybrid but also the Energi, which can run off of fuel and be plugged in. EPA-estimated mileage rating of 40/city/36/hwy. This sedan seats five and has a ton of options to choose from: driver-assist, heated steering wheel, navigation, and auto parallel parking to name a few. The Fusion Hybrid offers several high-tech safety options, including a forward-collision avoidance system, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. All models come equipped with the Sync MyFord. MSRP: $25,675   Toyota Rav4 Hybrid This sporty SUV seats five with a flexible cargo net system. EPA-estimated mileage rating of 34/city/41/hwy. What I really like about this model is the safety features. Toyota Safety Sense-P is an available safety package that combines the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, to name a few features. TSS-P’s features create in-the-moment safety designed to support your awareness and decision-making on the road. Siri Eyes Free is another great option for your new Rav4. This allows you to sync your iPhone and use your voice to send messages, emails, listen to music, get directions, weather info and more. MSRP: $28,370   Lexus GS Hybrid Looking for something a little more luxe? Meet the Lexus GS. EPA- estimated mileage rating of  29/city/34/hwy. What do I love about this car? Everything. Seriously. You can purchase this ride in a variety of options giving you a super luxurious interior to a 450 horsepower motor - which of course is not a hybrid option, but I had to throw that in. Standard features on all models: Lexus Enform Safety Connect, 10 airbags, Intuitive Parking Assist, Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management, and Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Alert to pick a few. Add on the luxury package and you've got rear seat audio and climate control, rear door sun shades (because naps), alloy wheels, and interior sport styling. MSRP: $63,080   The Good, The Bad & The Ugly The Good: There are a lot of options out there for Hybrids. There is literally something for every style and every budget. The Bad: With so many options it can be overwhelming. During my research online, I found the information to be disorganized and inconsistent. The Ugly: Based off the reviews that I read, repairs can be expensive and not always covered in your warranty.
