The holidays are here! My favorite way to spread some cheer and get in the holiday spirit is seasonal events with family and friends. While we will never see a white Christmas, we prefer to “Let it Snow” somewhere else! See what fun it is to spend holidays in Scottsdale, AZ, with my list of suggested activities.
McCormick Stillman Railroad Park
All aboard the trains to take you on the Paradise and Pacific railroads as you become surrounded by dazzling lights and charming displays. Food and drinks are available for purchase at the little general store; a cup of hot cocoa is highly encouraged as a sweet treat always adds a little extra joy. Little ones can enjoy visits with Santa and carousel rides. Book tickets ahead of time to ensure you get to enjoy this experience!
The railroad park is a short drive from Camden Montierra and Camden San Paloma and hosts events all year.
Christmas at the Princess
Christmas at the Princess is a yearly Christmas extravaganza and is only a few miles from Camden Foothills!
It is one of Arizona’s biggest holiday events with an ice-skating rink, different themed lands to visit, seasonal characters to greet, and even a lounge where everything is made of ice! I used to be good friends with Graham the Smore; he and his friends create magic with every interaction they have. My favorite memory with Graham was when we visited a Kindergarten class during the holiday season; he was the show's star and became every kid’s best friend that day!
Scottsdazzle
The city of Scottsdale decorates the streets of Old Town with décor and lights and puts on several events from now through the New Year! Events range from cooking classes to movie nights to themed strolls and bar crawls. With the location being within walking distance from Camden Old Town Scottsdale, residents can walk on over to all the hustle and bustle without missing a thing.
The Nutcracker at Symphony Hall
While Symphony Hall is on the outskirts of Scottsdale and within walking distance from Camden Copper Square, it deserves an honorable mention as my favorite show of the season.
Ballet Arizona performs this classic story during the month of December. I have a personal appreciation as I dance ballet, but no matter how often I see the show, it will always be one of the best.
Scottsdale has multiple ways to celebrate this holiday season, but there are also some ways to spend your holidays in Tempe, AZ, and other holiday festivities in Chandler, AZ.
If staying in is more your style and all your loved ones are coming to you, hosting for the holidays in your Camden apartment can still be fun and easier than ever!
