In Georgia, we define the fall season as whether it’s cold enough to wear a hoodie. If it’s not, well it’s still summer. But, if it’s hoodie season, fall has arrived! Every fall there’s a mental list of must see, go, and things to do. During the summer we created a family summer bucket list. Now it’s time to create our fall bucket list. Here's a few of my favorite fall activities.
Have a Bonfire
This could easily be my favorite fall pastime. There’s just something about the crisp fall air, friends and family gathered and sitting around a fire. You can gather around in your own backyard or on a camping -or in my case - glamping trip.
Pumpkin Carving
I think between the pumpkin carving party we had at Camden Stockbridge last fall, and the pumpkins we carved at home, I carved and decorated at least ten of them myself. Carving not your thing? There are hundreds of ways to paint a pumpkin too!
Visit a Haunted House
Atlanta is home to Netherworld, a two house attraction filled with live actors and insane special effects. Even if you live outside the Atlanta area, it 100% worth the time and the drive. We go every year, and it’s worth it every time. Pro Tip: Go on a weekday, tickets are cheaper, there’s more actor interaction, and the wait times are much shorter.
Take a Road Trip
Driving up through the North Georgia Mountains is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. With it’s picture perfect scenery and winding roads you’ll be happy you made the drive. Spend and afternoon in quaint town like Dahlonega, Helen, Tallulah Falls. You'll find shopping, local eats, and breathtaking beautiful hiking trails.
