If you’ve never visited Southern California, sometimes it can be hard to figure out what to do when you get there! As a SoCal native, I have put together a great way to spend a day in one of the nation’s most sought-after regions – Orange County.

But First, Coffee.

Start the day off right with a classic breakfast from San Francisco establishment Boudin SF, conveniently connected to Camden Main and Jamboree Apartments. This quaint restaurant bakes its own bread, and you can even get clam chowder in a bread bowl for lunch or dinner! Sit outside and watch new hairstyles come to life at The Neighborhood Barbershop and Salon next door, or treat yourself to a fresh cut!

Tee Time or Trails?

It’s Tee Time at Rancho San Joaquin golf course! Irvine’s first public golf course welcomes golfers of all experience levels. Enjoy the beauty of three coastal lakes that surround the course while you perfect your swing. Not a big golfer? Rent a kayak on the bay or take your pup on a trail at the pet-friendly Newport Bay Conservancy. There is plenty of diverse wildlife to see in these protected wetlands.

Shopping and Lunch and Movies, Oh My!

All that morning exercise calls for lunch – and South Coast Plaza has you covered! Just a 10-minute drive from Camden Martinique, this shopping center offers over 30 distinct eateries and luxury shops, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, and even an Apple store. End your afternoon with the latest movie at the nearby Regal movie theatre.  

Dinner and a Drink, Anyone?

Nothing like dinner and a nightcap to end a long day of relaxing and shopping! Seafood is a must-have in SoCal, and the year-round Santa Monica Seafood Market & Café has an eclectic menu for all kinds of palates. Give in to your sweet tooth at French’s Cupcake Bakery just down the street. This establishment has been around since 1976 and is a must-try! If you’re not quite ready to call it a night, keep on walking to Country Club for some drinks and dancing.
