Scottsdale is well known for its wide variety of food options and great cocktails. Over the last year, more and more chefs have taken the leap to open their own kitchens and give the city a chance to experience their culinary creations. With menus curated from all over the world, these restaurants are a perfect example of why Scottsdale is a foodie’s dream destination. Whether you’re new to town, just visiting, or a life-long resident, here are some of my personal recommendations (and some from friends) for five great new restaurants to try out.

The Italiano by Chef Joey

In September of 2024, world-famous Chef Joey opened his 6th restaurant in Scottsdale, “The Italiano”. With great cocktails and family-style Italian dining, you are sure to be satisfied. Located just a 10-minute drive from Camden San Paloma and Camden Montierra this Italian gem this restaurant makes for the perfect upscale date night.

Olivers Modern American

Just 10 minutes East of Camden Old Town Scottsdale, Olivers Modern American restaurant offers a wide variety of menu options from coast to coast. Open since May 2024, Olivers features a cozy atmosphere where you can have a great date night or bring the whole family and spend some quality time.

Peacock Indian Bar & Grill

The newest restaurant on our list opened recently in December 2024. Located just five minutes from Camden San Marcos and Camden Legacy Peacock Indian Bar and Grill is one of the more budget-friendly dinner spots on our list. With both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options there is something for everyone, just pick your spice level and enjoy.

Velvet Taco

With their globally inspired tacos and easy service at their order and pickup bar, Velvet Taco makes a great spot for a quick bite to eat or somewhere to sit down and enjoy dinner with friends. With its ideal location in the heart of Scottsdale just five minutes from Camden Old Town Scottsdale you can easily get back home after a few of their yummy margaritas or keep the night going at nearby surrounding bars.

La Fogata

Inside the Scottsdale Resort and Spa, a 5-minute drive from Camden San Paloma and Camden Montierra lies this hidden gem of a restaurant. This is the newest eatery on our list! Their twist on a southwestern menu is sure to make your mouth water. Overlooking the 18th hole on the connecting golf course, you are sure to enjoy a famous Arizona sunset with your meal. Make sure to come on the weekend and enjoy live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 pm to 9pm for a vibrant fusion of food and sound.

Scottsdale really has something for everyone to enjoy, no matter their personal tastes. This is one of the reasons I hold this city so close to my heart. I love food and appreciate all the flavors each culture brings to the plate. If you try any of these spots, make sure to share them on your MyCamden community wall so your neighbors can check them out as well!
