Sometimes you just can't expose your plants to enough sunlight, like if you live in an apartment home and you don't have a backyard or community garden. Whether you have a busy schedule or minimal windows, there are 5 low-light plants that are perfect for your Camden apartment.

I absolutely love plants and flowers, but I don't exactly have the greenest thumb. I currently have all of the plants on this list and they've been alive for several years! These plants require little water, thrive on neglect, and need little sunshine. Not only are low-light plants perfect for decorating apartment homes, but they also improve air quality. Check them out!

Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) This is my first and favorite indoor plant. It can go without water for weeks at a time and doesn't mind being in a dark corner. According to the NASA Clean Air Study in 1989, the Snake Plant is one of the best indoor plants for clean air. In addition to absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, as all plants do, this plant removes significant amounts of benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene.

Madagascar Dragon Tree (Dracaena marginata)

This plant is also on NASA's Top 10 list for clean air plants. The dragon tree comes in many variations, but they provide a tropical vibe to any room it's in. Doesn't it look like a mini palm tree? This low light carefree plant thrives best near a window with indirect sunlight.

Aloe Vera (Aloe vera)

Known as the “plant of immortality", this low light plant is perfect for an apartment home. The Aloe is a succulent that needs little watering and prefers to be in indirect sunlight. Many of us know Aloe to be used in lotions, beauty products, and even drinks.

Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)

This low light plant is commonly used in homes and offices for their beautiful white flowers. The peace lily is forgiving, hardy, and will start drooping when it needs water. It loves the shade!

Golden Pothos (Epipremnum aureum)

This low light plant is the easiest plant I've ever had, and it's truly the most perfect one for apartment homes. As a vine plant, it grows super fast and it takes a lot to kill them. What's even cooler is that you can remove parts of the plant and grow a whole new one with it!

Houseplants are an easy and simple way to liven up an apartment home, except sometimes they're too difficult to take care of. These 5 low-light plants are perfect for apartment homes because they are SO easy to take care of.

If they show signs of over-watering or dryness, you'll be able to tell and bring your plant back to health. They don't need to be outside and actually prefer room temperature. They are perfect decorations for a small space!
