Want a new place to hang out and explore in Houston? Well, in case you missed it, there’s this area in Houston called the East End. Say what?  Yes, I am talking about the East End.  Let’s just say that it’s worth exploring.  I am going to share with you my four reasons to explore the East End

Here are four reasons to explore the East End of Houston:

Sports:  Three of the main sports venues in the city of Houston are located in the East End.  Go Houston!

Food:  The food in this area can’t be beat.  People flock from all over to eat authentic Tex-Mex at the Original Ninfa’s and the Original El Tiempo Cantina on Navigation.  If you want a great burger, try Champ Burgers on Sampson .  If barbecue is what you are after, try Pappa Charlies over on Rusk.  There are also lots of fun bars on St. Emmanuel for you to explore.

The Arts:  The East End is a breeding ground for burgeoning artists.  The East End encourages artistic expression at every turn. Between public art displays and murals and community cultural festivals, there is a little something for everyone.  There are artist studios, including my favorite place in Houston, The Texas Art Asylum, where you can both create and admire art.

Community Activities:  The East End hosts a weekend market on Navigation.  Discovery Green hosts lots of community events as well as fitness classes, such as yoga.  Check out their website to see events happening every weekend throughout the year.
